Summer Songs

An Ode to Natural Bloom and the Magic of Kupala Night.

“Litni Pisni” (Summer Songs) is a compilation dedicated to the most mystical and turbulent period of the Ukrainian folk calendar—Ivan Kupala and the start of the harvest. Summer Songs are ritual compositions that accompanied jumping over fire, weaving wreaths, divining on water, and searching for the fern flower. Stylistically, this is authentic Ukrainian folklore mixed with modern electronic music.

“Litni Pisni” is a compilation work and the third record in the cycle of ritual songs from ТІЛЬКИТАК Records. The collection was created under the guidance of Tania "Sha" Shamshetdinova. This album united contemporary Ukrainian music and ritual Kupala chants, ancient Rusalka motifs with songs about the power of nature. The result was an explosive, almost hypnotic electronic danceability of songs about the elemental energy of the summer solstice. As with other seasonal compilations, this release performs an important cultural function—the preservation and popularization of Ukrainian folklore.

For the first time on vinyl from ТІЛЬКИТАК Records, a unique compilation, with an equally unique design by Daria Petrovska. A vibrant cover, supplemented with a booklet of song lyrics, an insert describing Ukrainian summer traditions and the meaning of these songs, and a bright green 180g record, like summer grass. The circulation totals 299 copies.

Externally, the release is adorned with a hand-numbered Obi-Strip, which emphasizes the collectible part of the edition.
