Karna — Hutsulizeishn | Vinyl & Cassette

A manifesto of Ukrainian Hutsul metal, where Carpathian traditions meet the energy of modern metal.

Karna — the band that created its own style

Karna is a Ukrainian rock band from Ivano-Frankivsk that has combined alternative metal, heavy guitar sound, and Carpathian folk motifs since 1997. This combination became the foundation of the style the band calls “Hutsul metal.”

In Karna’s music, Carpathian melodies and folk traditions meet the energy of contemporary rock and metal. Over the years, the band has developed a distinctive sound that reflects the power of the mountains, Ukrainian identity, and the spirit of modern Ukraine.

Hutsulizeishn — the energy of the mountains and Ukrainian spirit

“Hutsulizeishn” is Karna’s fourth studio album, released on May 17, 2024. The album was created during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and became a continuation of the band’s musical journey.

The record includes both new compositions and previously released singles “Mama Halychyna,” “Richard z Hir,” and “Proshu Pana Do Smereky,” which were released in 2022.

“Hutsulizeishn” was the first album following vocalist Oleksii Yarosh’s return to the band. He recorded part of the vocals near the front line while serving in the military.

The album features 12 tracks: “Hutsulizeishn,” “Chorna Skrypka,” “Rytm,” “Mama Halychyna,” “Vohon,” “ARKAN,” “Khryzantemy,” “Rakéty Ilona Masky,” “Proshu Pana Do Smereky,” “Yanholy,” “Love,” and “Richard z Hir.”
