ANNA is an alternative metal band from Lviv, founded in 2002. Their sound is a mix of aggression, protest, and inner struggle. Uncompromising energy, brutally honest lyrics, and flawless endurance — this is ANNA.

Karmatresh is ANNA’s first full-length album, released in 2008, and without exaggeration, it became a landmark event for Ukrainian heavy music. The album set a new standard for the emerging wave of domestic nu-metal and alternative music. Its lyrics are a conversation on the edge of despair, anger, and self-discovery in a world spinning on ruins. The music is fierce, dense, and profound. The album’s title is a neologism reflecting the philosophy of inevitable chaos and consequences (Karma + Thrash). For many listeners, Karmatresh became cult, opening the door to a deeper understanding of Ukraine’s heavy scene.

ANNA was formed in 2002 by Viktor Novosolov (vocals) and Yuriy Pidtserkovnyi (guitar), later joined by Mykhailo Salo (bass) and Serhiy Nesterenko (guitar). The band’s name is an acronym for “Atomic Nuclear No-core-up-ted Attention,” roughly translating as “Extremely intense, powerful, completely pure, and uncorrupted attention.” ANNA became one of the loudest and most influential acts on Ukraine’s heavy alternative scene in the 2000s.

Nearly 20 years after its original release, this album receives new life from ТІЛЬКИТАК Records. The vinyl edition of Karmatresh honors the Ukrainian underground and its legacy. For those who experienced it back then — it’s memory. For new listeners — a chance to touch the true history of heavy music in Ukraine.

The release comes in a gatefold format, featuring archival band photos, double vinyl for optimal sound quality, illustrated inner sleeves with all lyrics, and unique features for collectors:

• Thrash Edition: Green marbled 2LP on 180g vinyl, limited to 199 copies. Includes a photo insert and a replica of the 2008 Karmatresh tour poster.
• Karma Edition: Grey marbled 2LP on 180g vinyl, limited to 299 copies. Includes a photo insert with autographs from all band members, plus a 7-inch with additional demo tracks.

Both editions are decorated with a hand-numbered Obi-Strip, enhancing the collectible value of the release.
