Sick Solution – Hardcore Yakuza

Sick Solution is a modern Ukrainian hardcore band from Vinnytsia. It started as a post-hardcore metalcore band, but in 2020 changed its sound towards metalized hardcore. “Hardcore Yakuza” is an evil, artful, harsh, and uncompromisingly heavy record—a sample of modern Ukrainian metal today, filled with many interesting riffs, breakdowns, or guitar solos, and, of course, many catchy shouts and phrases that you sing along with the band on tours and at festivals. The theme of the album, inspired by the image of the Japanese Yakuza, perfectly reflects the intensity of their music.

Founded in 2016, the band quickly became one of the most powerful and straightforward collectives on the Ukrainian hardcore scene. The collective was created with the aim of creating fast, aggressive, and ruthless music. Sick Solution works in the genres of metalized hardcore, beatdown, and post-hardcore. The collective consciously distances itself from traditional old-school hardcore, instead drawing inspiration from the new wave of aggressive heavy music.

“Hardcore Yakuza” is the band's first full-length album of 11 tracks in which the main anti-hero of the album goes through all mortal sins throughout the plot and dies. The album is filled with death, nihilism, biblical and satanic symbols, loss of faith in humanity, self-destruction, and blood. Artem Kovalenko, Pavlo Aksyonov, Andriy Dusanyuk, and Anton Kovalov participated in the work on the album. In their musical approach, the band favors simplicity, energy, short track runtimes, sometimes using elements of metalcore, rap, and even samples. The lyrics have the nature of laconic manifestos, often on social themes.

In approaching the creation of this release, the ТІЛЬКИТАК Records team created a release that reflects the fierce aggressive aesthetic of the album. The unique design of the gatefold cover is a work of art, supplemented with illustrations from the tracks. In addition, there is a 12-page booklet with photos from the band's tours and lyrics, a photo insert, and special features in the limited variant. The release is issued in two record colors:

Clear/Red Splatter: Translucent splatter with red drops, like blood, 180g vinyl. Circulation – 249 copies, the first 99 of which are autographed by the band.

Black Ice/Red Translucent: Translucent black-red 180g vinyl; the edition includes: a large poster, a signature guitar pick, and a sticker pack. Circulation – 99 copies, the first 49 of which are autographed by the band.

The limited circulation, hand-numbered Obi-Strip emphasizes the collectible value of the edition.
