Description
“I only write about what I myself experience, what I myself think about.” © Pereverzev Vasyl
ТОЛ (TOL) is one of the most influential bands in the Ukrainian heavy music scene, originating from Kyiv. Their style, which the musicians called "sad aggressive," is a mix of nu-metal and hardcore with deep, philosophical, and psychologically saturated lyrics. Syndrom Bazhannya (Syndrome of Desire) is the band's cult debut studio album, released in 2005. The album's lyrics are dedicated to the human struggle with the external and internal world.
The band was founded in 2003 by Vasyl Pereverzev (vocals), Serhiy Liubinsky (guitar), Dmytro Dzyuba (bass guitar), Oleksandr Koziaruk (DJ), Yevhen Petrusenko (guitar), and Yuriy Ishchenko (drums), each of whom already had musical experience. The band's name is an abbreviation of the explosive trinitrotoluene (TNT), which perfectly characterizes their music.
Syndrom Bazhannya is a defining release for the Ukrainian alternative scene, exploring the dark corners of human consciousness, passion, and desire. Notably, the album was initially planned to be titled "kara0k." The album's lyrics are well-revealed in the militant "Samoznyshchennia" (Self-destruction) and the darkly optimistic "Khto Ya?" (Who Am I?). Overall, this album defined the development of the band's musical style.
Without exaggeration, this is the most anticipated and desired release on vinyl. The album that captured our attention from the first music video for "Samoznyshchennia" and still hasn't let go. The album that divided life into before and after. The album whose lyrics are as relevant as ever and find new meaning in our realities. The album we have been listening to for almost 20 years.
The single "Vor" (Thief) and the exclusive demo track "Smert" (Death) will be released on a physical medium for the first time, added to a separate 7-inch record.
For the first time on vinyl from ТІЛЬКИТАК Records, this release has been thought out to the smallest detail. The limited edition features a gatefold cover, lyrics printed on illustrated sleeves for the records, different editions and contents, double vinyl, and various record colors—red marbled and classic black vinyl. The Deluxe Edition will contain an additional record with tracks in a colored variant, a signature medallion with the band's logo, and an insert with the autographs of all members, with 30% of the cost of these copies going towards purchasing a vehicle for Prozorov’s unit needs. The Limited Edition includes a photo insert and additional demo tracks in a colored edition.
Separately, the album is also being released on a limited, hand-numbered cassette run—100 copies.
All variants feature a hand-numbered Obi-Strip.
