Product description
An album-manifesto about changes and emotional renewal.
Iryna Bilyk is a legendary Ukrainian performer, known for bold experiments and a recognizable musical style. Nova(New) is the singer's third album, which marked a new period of stylistic renewal and emotional maturity. The lyrical theme was the search for self, reinterpretation, liberation from the past, and readiness for new feelings.
Iryna Bilyk's musical and career path began in 1988, and a year later, she participated in the cult Chervona Ruta '89 festival. Thanks to her innovative methods and style, she became a symbol of the new Ukrainian music of the 1990s. As a songwriter, she wrote many songs herself, which gave her lyrics a special, candid, and deeply emotional quality that was uncharacteristic of many of her contemporaries.
The album “Nova,” released in 1995, is one of the most significant releases in Ukrainian pop music of the 90s and became a defining stage in the singer's work, cementing her status as one of the main stars of the Ukrainian scene. It is a collection of emotional, sensual songs that combined insightful lyrics, modern arrangements, and a special atmosphere that makes it timeless. Hits like “Ty Miy” (You Are Mine), “Ya Rozkazhu” (I Will Tell), and “Hodi Vzhe” (Enough Already) sound powerful and candid. The album symbolizes renewal, internal struggle, and genuine feelings that resonate with every listener.
All her Ukrainian-language albums will be released on vinyl records: “Kuvala Zozulya,” “Ya Rozkazhu,” “Nova,” “Tak Prosto,” “Farby,” “Oma,” “Krayina,” and also an 8th record—a compilation of singles. For those who purchase all 7 albums, the compilation will be a gift.
Each album is revolutionary and epoch-making, with its own concept and history. Iryna Bilyk had one of the greatest influences and essentially shaped the Ukrainian pop scene, oriented towards the West, for which she earned the title of "Ukrainian Madonna."
For the first time on vinyl from ТІЛЬКИТАК Records, this release was printed in a circulation of 399 copies. The record is produced in gray color and pressed on 180g for better sound quality. A special feature of the edition is the complete set of the release: a booklet with song lyrics and an insert with a photo from that period, the first 99 of which are autographed by Iryna Bilyk.
It is externally complemented by a manually numbered Obi-Strip to emphasize the collectible component of the release.
