Description
The first Ukrainian pop-reggae album that has been playing for over 20 years, yet still sounds modern, positive, and once again shows that you can sing in any style in your native language.
The Vyo is an iconic cultural phenomenon from Kobeliaky, the pioneers of the reggae style in Ukraine. Vyroby z Plastmasy (Plastic Products) is the band's debut album-manifesto that defined their recognizable style. Lyrically, the album uses the metaphor of "plastic" to criticize excessive consumption and post-Soviet routine, hiding a philosophical meaning behind a rhythmic and cheerful facade.
Founded in 1991 by Serhiy Pidkaura (guitar) and Myroslav Kuvaldin (vocals and songwriter), the band immediately attracted attention thanks to their bold arrangements and intellectual lyrics. They participated in the cult program "Terytoriya A" starting in 1997. “Vyroby z Plastmasy” is the band's first full-length album from 1998, in which Jamaican rhythms are combined with deep Ukrainian lyrics. The lyrics are filled with humor, life philosophy, and social themes, combined with Jamaican rhythms, elements of dub, funk, and positive vibrations. Vyroby z Plastmasy is the album that shaped The Vyo's unique sound, combining reggae, dub, electronic experiments, and ironic lyrics. Its sound remains relevant today. This record is the quintessence of the 90s: intellectual, danceable, and eternally relevant. Songs like “Kosmishna” (Cosmic) and “Zori” (Stars) are lyrical masterpieces of their time that feel like a warm summer day from childhood.
In preparation for this release, the ТІЛЬКИТАК Records team restored all the material for the vinyl edition. Produced in two variants:

Kosmishna Nich Edition (Cosmic Night Edition): Dark marbled 180g record, supplemented with a booklet with song lyrics and archival photos, as well as an insert, the first 49 of which are autographed by the band. Circulation – 99 copies.
