Product description

Refined Alternative Rock. Searching for self and the feeling of otherness.

Talita Kum is an iconic Ukrainian rock band from the 2000s that stood out against the general rock scene thanks to its "soft" sound and the melodic depth of its lyrics. The album “Inozemtsi” (Strangers/Foreigners) is the band's album that became a symbol of the era due to its mix of alternative rock, pop-punk, and the uncompromising feminine energy of frontwoman Yuliya Mishchenko.

Founded in 2001, the band almost immediately became famous thanks to their powerful live performances and non-trivial lyrics. The band's name comes from the Aramaic language, where it means “Girl, arise!” The band entered the 2000s as the voice of a young generation striving for sincerity, strength, and truth. The following participated in the work on the album: Yuliya Mishchenko (vocals and songwriter), Serhiy Hlushko (guitar), Kostyantyn Sukhonosov (keyboards), Serhiy Minchenko (bass), and Oleksiy Linnyk (drums).

This is a loud and at the same time sensitive record that touches upon themes of alienation, identity, feminine strength, and searching for oneself in a world where you feel like a guest. The title “Inozemtsi” is symbolic: sometimes strangers among our own, sometimes our own among strangers—we all sometimes find ourselves in the role of the "other." The band talks about love, loss, resistance, anger, hope—everything that was and still remains relevant. Musically, this is high-quality, measured alternative rock with notes of indie sound.

This is the first vinyl edition of the album. For fans of Ukrainian alternative music, this is not only nostalgia but also a recognition of the legacy of an entire era.

A gatefold cover with song lyrics on the spread. Produced in blue marble and pressed on 180g vinyl to ensure a deep "live" sound. The circulation totals 299 copies that were hand-numbered; inside each one, an exclusive poster can be found.
