Description
An album ahead of its time.
Iryna Bilyk is a cult Ukrainian singer, a musical trendsetter, and a leading artist of the 1990s. She gained fame through bold musical experiments and frequent changes in her artistic persona. Released in 2000, the album "OMA" was a creative experiment where Iryna Bilyk introduced a new sound and a variety of lyrical themes dedicated to external changes and internal struggles.
Iryna Bilyk's musical career began back in 1988, and she quickly achieved success by combining avant-garde arrangements with sophisticated lyrics of her own authorship. "OMA" is the artist's sixth studio project, created as a search for self in a rapidly changing world. It remains one of her most candid records; in her own words, the title refers to a state "when you feel truly great." The lead hit of the release was the song "Vybachay" (Forgive me), which later featured a music video directed by one of Ukraine’s leading directors, Max Papernyk. Conceptually, the album is a fusion of rock, acoustics, and touches of gospel, wrapped in a "darker" and more "mature" thematic shell.
For the first time on vinyl — Iryna Bilyk's "OMA". This iconic album has been reproduced with meticulous attention to detail by the TILKYTAK Records team.
