Karna — “Karna” on vinyl is a special collector’s edition of the second studio album by one of Ukraine’s best-known metal bands. TILKITAK Records presents the limited vinyl edition of “Karna” for fans of Ukrainian metal, collectors, and Hutsul metal enthusiasts.

Karna — the band that created Hutsul metal

Karna is a Ukrainian rock band from Ivano-Frankivsk, founded in 1997. The band began as a Ukrainian alternative metal act and gradually developed its own distinctive sound, which the musicians called “Hutsul metal.”

Karna’s music combines heavy guitar riffs with Carpathian folklore, Ukrainian melodies, and modern rock energy. This combination became the foundation of the band’s signature style and one of its defining features on the Ukrainian metal scene.

The band’s name comes from pre-Christian beliefs. Karna was a deity associated with mourning for the dead, as well as punishment, grief, and death on the battlefield.

Throughout its history, the band’s lineup has changed several times. Vladyslav Yarun, who played guitar and provided backing vocals, has remained the band’s only permanent member.

“Karna” — an album about love, war, and life

“Karna” is the band’s second studio album, released in 2010. The record continued the development of Karna’s distinctive sound, combining heavy music with themes of love, military duty, and social challenges.

The album features Oleksii Yarosh (vocals), Maksym Maslak (bass guitar), Oleh Bilous (drums), as well as guest performers Lama, Vdovych V., Chervonetskyi M., and Dobrydnieva A.

The album contains 14 tracks. One of its highlights is “Moia myla,” which became one of Karna’s best-known songs. According to the band members, the song became especially meaningful to many listeners and was even associated with stories of people starting families.

The album “Karna” was included in the Top 100 Albums of the Ukrainian Independence Era, securing its place in the history of Ukrainian heavy music.

TILKITAK Records presents Karna’s “Karna” on double vinyl in a special collector’s edition.

The album is released as two 140g records in Yellow & Blue vinyl. The edition is limited to 299 copies, each individually hand-numbered.
