Description
The heart of Ukrainian Hutsul Metal.
Karna is a significant Ukrainian rock band from Ivano-Frankivsk, the founders of the "Hutsul Metal" style—a mix of alternative rock and Carpathian folklore. With a recognizable style, the band is one of the pioneers of the domestic metal scene. The self-titled album is a masterfully executed and well-thought-out balance of themes of love, military duty, and social challenges.
Founded in 1997, the band immediately defined itself as "Ukrainian alternative metal" and began to form its recognizable style. The band's name was chosen as a reference to pre-Christian beliefs, where Karna is a deity that personified a mourner for the deceased. It is also the embodiment of punishment, pity, and death on the battlefield.
Throughout its history, the band changed its lineup several times; only Yarun Vladyslav (backing vocals and guitar) remained constant. The following members participated in the work on the album: Yarosh Oleksiy (vocals), Maslak Maksym (bass guitar), and Bilous Oleh (drums), as well as invited performers (Lama, Vdovych V., Chervonetsky M., and Dobrydnieva A.). “Karna” is the second album by the Ukrainian metal band Karna, released in 2010. The album entered the top 100 albums from the time of Ukrainian independence. It features the track "Moya Myla" (My Dear), thanks to which more than one family was started, and for which, according to Vlad, they are still thanked.
Given the uniqueness of Karna, Karna ТІЛЬКИТАК Records has made every effort to create a release that will only emphasize the distinctiveness of the album. Produced on double vinyl in yellow and blue colours in a quantity of 299 copies, the album was manually numbered. Inside the edition, you can also find an insert with a photo of the band and an 8-page booklet with song lyrics and archival photos of the band from that period. Among the important features, the following should also be noted:
The first 50 copies include an insert with the autographs of all band members, an exclusive sticker, and a signature guitar pick from the band.
The first 100 copies include an insert with the autograph of all band members.
The cover is externally decorated with an Obi-Strip with hand-numbering, which adds collectible value to the edition.
